Equal parts entertaining and clever, Bitch Ass is a nice entry into the Black slasher genre. With great callbacks to narrative concepts from Tales from the Hood and Saw, the film blends the best elements of its predecessors with a modern and fresh spin.
Maite’s tasteful direction in Without Prescription is why this involved story works so well. She manages to build an intimate setting with such an obstructive disorder that it’s hard not to become immersed by Olivia’s healing process and her fight for mental freedom.
