Sundance World Cinema Dramatic Competition Preview: We Are Little Zombies

Among all the competition at Sundance, the entries in the World Cinematic Drama are some of PCR’s highly anticipated. One of the films is We Are Little Zombies (Teaser Trailer Below!). It is directed by Sundance returnee Makoto Nagahisa. This time around, he’s debuting his first feature length film which blends a hyper pop style, video game culture and an imagination that soars beyond standard storytelling.

We Are Little Zombies follows four young strangers (Hikari, Ikuko, Ishi, and Takemura) who meet at a crematorium. Per the film’s official synopsis: They have all recently lost their parents, but none of them can shed a tear. They are like zombies, devoid of all emotion. Alone in the world at 13 years old with no future, no dreams, and no way to move forward, our protagonists dress themselves in scraps from a garbage dump, track down musical instruments, and decide to form a kick-ass band. They call themselves LITTLE ZOMBIES. This is a story about their quest to retrieve their ability to feel.

The film will have its world premiere at Sundance in Park City, UT on Sunday January 27th. For more information, visit the Sundance site or We Are Little Zombies
